TPP-IOA is a specific inhibitor of cytochrome c (cyt c) peroxidase activity, inhibits peroxidase activity of cardiolipin-induced cytochrome c peroxidase activity with IC50 of 5 uM.
TPP-IOA inhibits apoptosis by preventing cardiolipin oxidation and cytochrome c release to the cytosol.
TPP-IOA dose-dependently inhibits the rate of resorufin formation of the cytochrome c/cardiolipin solution.
TPP-IOA is a specific mitochondria-targeted anti-peroxidase agent inhibiting mono-lyso-CL (MLCL)-cyt c peroxidase activity.
TPP-IOA (5 uM) significantly suppresses resorufin formation in isolated mitochondria.
TPP-IOA prevents phospholipid peroxidation, improves mitochondrial respiration of TAZ-deficient C2C12 myoblasts and restores exercise endurance in a Barth syndrome (BTHS) Drosophila model.
