Tanshinone IIA

Catalog No.: PC-28062Not For Human Use, Lab Use Only.

Tanshinone IIA is a major component of the root of red-rooted Salvia miltiorrhiza Bunge with potent antitumor activity, suppresses A549 proliferation, induces apoptosis and cell cycle arrest at the S phase by targeting the protein kinase domains of VEGF/VEGFR2, also directly inhibits HDAC6 enzymatic activity and selectively kills U266 and RPMI 8226 myeloma cells.

Biological Activity

Tanshinone IIA is a major component of the root of red-rooted Salvia miltiorrhiza Bunge with potent antitumor activity, suppresses A549 proliferation, induces apoptosis and cell cycle arrest at the S phase by targeting the protein kinase domains of VEGF/VEGFR2, also directly inhibits HDAC6 enzymatic activity and selectively kills U266 and RPMI 8226 myeloma cells.
Tanshinone IIA attenuates myocardial ischemia by targeting FGFR1 residue Gln284 for allosteric modulation and subsequent autophagy inhibition.
Tanshinone IIA inhibits choroidal neovascularization and restores outer blood-retinal barrier function in Vldlr knockout mice.
Tanshinone IIA induced apoptosis in HL60 human premyelocytic leukemia cell line.
Tanshinone IIA protects against sudden cardiac death induced by lethal arrhythmias via repression of microRNA-1.
