Biological Activity
Tapencarium (Utenpanium chloride, RZL-012) is a fat-reducing and small molecule thermogenic regulator, destroys adipocytes by directly disrupting cell membrane integrity.
RZL-012 triggered adipocyte cell killing with IC50 values ranging from 25 to 106 μM.
RZL-012 demonstrated initial effects on membrane integrity and calcium levels with delayed alterations in mitochondrial membrane potential (MMP).
RZL-012 may potentially be used for the treatment of Dercum's Disease lipomas.
