Biological Activity
Tetrapeptide KGR-3 (Ac-WEHD-AOMK) is potent and somewhat selective inhibitor of caspase-1 and caspase-4, inhibits caspase-1- or caspase-4-driven pyroptosis and IL-1β secretion.
KGR-3 also inhibits mouse caspase-1.
KGR-3 inhibits nigericin-induced cell lysis.
KGR-3 blocks GSDMD processing and cell death induced by caspase-4 but is less effective against caspase-11.
KGR-3 suppressed Val-boroPro (VBP)-induced pyroptosis in EA.hy926 cells with IC50 of 2.5 uM.
KGR-3 prevents caspase-1-dependent pyroptosis, but not caspase-1-dependent apoptosis.
