VU0155041 is a potent, selective positive allosteric modulator of metabotropic glutamate receptor 4 (mGluR4) with EC50 of 798 and 693 nM at human and rat mGluR4, respectively.
VU0155041 is a partial agonist of mGluR4 that activates the receptor by interacting with a site that is distinct from the glutamate binding site.
VU0155041 does not antagonize NMDA receptors, also has no effect on binding for 67 different targets including GPCRs, ion channels, and transporters.
VU0155041 has antiparkinsonian effects in preclinical rodent models of PD, reverses reserpine-induced akinesia in rats.
