Ebio2 is a potent, subtype-selective activator of potassium channel KCNQ2 (Kv7.2) with EC50 of 1.9 nM for activation on the outward current amplitude of the KCNQ2 channel at +50 mV.
Ebio2 (10 nM) enhances KCNQ2 currents by an average factor of 7.4 ± 0.3 and considerably shifted the half-maximal activation voltage (V1/2) to a more hyperpolarized potential by 32.7 ± 1.2 mV, from −15.2 ± 1.6 mV to −47.8 ± 1.6 mV.
Ebio2 also shifts the KCNQ2 activation curve to a hyperpolarizing direction, with an EC50 value of 4.5 nM.
Ebio2 exhibits over 100 times greater potency in modulating the KCNQ2 channel than Ebio1 (Cat# PC-21613).
Ebio2 exhibits over 100-fold subtype selectivity compared to all other KCNQ channels.
