    Biological Activity

    eIF4A inhibitor 28 (eIF4A-IN-28) is a novel small molecule RNA-competitive, ATP-uncompetitive inhibitor of eIF4A, inhibits eIF4A ATPase and helicase activities with IC50 of 8.6 and 6.6 uM, respectively.
    eIF4A inhibitor 28 decreases BJAB Burkitt lymphoma cell viability with IC50 of 0.46 uM.
    eIF4A inhibitor 28 engages a novel pocket in the RNA groove of eIF4A and inhibits unwinding activity by interfering with proper RNA binding and suppressing ATP hydrolysis.
