Alpha-NETA free base is a selective choline acetyltransferase (ChA) inhibitor with IC50 of 9 uM, also is a TAAR5 agonist that affects sensory gating in rats.
Alpha-NETA antagonizes the effects of acetylcholine (ED50=70-80 uM) histamine and KCl-induced contractions in the guinea pig longitudinal ileal muscle, activates acetylcholinesterase (EC50=360 uM) and inhibits cholinesterase (EC50=1100 uM) at high concentrations.
Alpha-NETA also is a CMKLR1 antagonist that inhibits chemerin-stimulated β-arrestin2 association with CMKLR1, as well as chemerin-triggered CMKLR1+ cell migration, suppresses CNS autoimmune inflammatory disease in vivo.
